Somali Helping Hands Association, is a local non-profit, non-governmental and non-sectarian organization, instituted, staffed, and managed by a faculty of Somali professionals. Conceptualized and discussed since the mid-2014. The organization was officially launched in January 2018 by group of Elbarde District intellectuals in different fields with the consultation of various community groups in Bakol Region such as traditional leaders, businessmen, women groups, youth groups, religious scholars etc in all districts under Bakol region.

A professional service delivery organization of standing Bakol in spirit, conception and composition SOHHA exemplifies Bakol Region’s humanitarian initiative at the best. In a country that has featured so prominently in recent humanitarian interventions, SOHHA commitment to transpose the accepted image of Bakol region, one of a Somali regions in illimitable humanitarian crises, to one of a region in transition, is reflected in the organizations philosophy,

objectives and operational strategy, guided by the principle of asserting a defining role for Bakol region-Somalis, SOHHA endeavors towards an environment of sustainable and self-reliant development for refugees, returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and the host community.
